The Lacroix Brothers
Joseph, Peter and Stephen Lacroix were the sons of John Louis Lacroix from Quebec, Canada and Marie Barbara Hooter of Pennsylvania. Her family was from Germany.
The Lacroix brothers served in the 17th, 18th and 19th Consolidated Regiment, Louisiana Militia in the Battle of New Orleans in the War of 1812. Their company was led by Captain Thomas Patterson and the regiment was commanded by Col. Josias S. Johnston. Peter was a Sergeant and Joseph and Stephen were Privates. Stephen Lacroix died in service on 24 February 1815.
